Terms and Conditions

These terms govern use of Bid & Buy TCI by members, bidders and sellers in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Effective 15 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-15

Bid & Buy TCI is a listing and bidding platform. It does not take payment, hold funds, inspect items, provide escrow, or become the buyer or seller.

1. Eligibility and acceptance

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement. By registering, bidding, listing, messaging or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, Prohibited Items Policy, Dispute Policy and published safety rules.

2. Marketplace role

Bid & Buy TCI provides technology for members to publish moderated listings and record bids. The sale contract, inspection, collection and payment are directly between seller and winning bidder. We do not guarantee identity, ownership, legality, quality, condition, safety, value, availability or completion of any transaction.

3. Accounts and security

  • Provide an email address you control and accurate account information.
  • Keep your password and devices secure; notify the platform promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
  • One person may not use multiple accounts to manipulate bidding, evade restrictions or mislead others.
  • We may require additional information, restrict functions, suspend accounts or preserve records to protect members and the service.

4. Seller obligations

  • Own the item or have lawful authority to sell it.
  • Describe the item, included accessories, known faults, serial details and collection terms accurately.
  • Use recent photographs of the actual item and do not conceal material defects.
  • Comply with licensing, age-verification and other legal requirements for regulated goods.
  • Do not bid on your own listing, arrange artificial bids or complete a sale outside the winning result to avoid the auction outcome.

5. Bids and winners

A submitted and accepted bid is an offer to purchase on the listing terms. The highest eligible bid at the server-determined close wins when any reserve is met. Bid only if you intend and are able to inspect, pay and collect within the stated period. Obvious technical errors, fraud, prohibited conduct or administrative cancellation may invalidate a result.

6. Payment, inspection and collection

No payment is processed by the platform. The winner should inspect the item before paying the seller in person. Do not send an advance deposit because of a platform listing or message. Exact contact details are disclosed only to the seller and qualifying winner after the auction. Each party is responsible for choosing a safe meeting place and lawful payment method.

7. Content, moderation and prohibited conduct

Listings and messages must be lawful, accurate and respectful. We may review, reject, edit, unfeature, cancel or remove content, and may suspend members, when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or marketplace integrity. Reporting content does not guarantee a particular outcome. See the Prohibited Items Policy.

8. Disputes

Members should first pause the handover, preserve the listing and messages, and follow the Dispute Policy. The platform may provide records or facilitate communication but is not an arbitrator, insurer or payment reversal service. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Availability and liability

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Internet, device, notification or third-party failures can delay access. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bid & Buy TCI is not responsible for indirect loss or for member-to-member payment, item, collection or conduct disputes. Members remain responsible for complying with Turks and Caicos Islands law.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these policies prospectively and will identify the effective version. Material changes may require renewed acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Turks and Caicos Islands, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction that apply. Obtain local legal advice before public launch; these operational terms are not a substitute for counsel.
